How to make a Car Insurance claim

When you call
When you call, please have the following information available:
- Your registration number
- Your policy number if you have it
- The driver’s details and licence number
- An incident report number from the police (if they were involved)
- The other party’s details if relevant
What happens next
You’ve had an accident and you are upset and stressed. You may be injured and your car is damaged. Call us first and we’ll take care of everything. We’ve made the whole process simple and hassle-free.We ask you some questions then we provide you with a claim number and the excess payable.
Depending on the state of your car we will either direct you to the nearest Customer Management Centre or we will make arrangements to tow your vehicle to a safe and secure location.
If there are no centres near you we will assist you to select the most suitable and conveniently located repairer from our preferred network of repairers.
Should your vehicle require towing, we will arrange to have your vehicle towed to a suitable repairer. Once the repairer has inspected you car, they will book an assessment for the next available business day.
At the Customer Management Centre:
Your car will be assessed by one of our trade qualified assessors; this process generally takes around 20 – 30 minutes. You can relax in our comfortable, child-friendly centre while you wait.
Within 48 hours of your vehicle being assessed, we will be in contact to notify you of the most suitable repairer to conduct repairs to your vehicle.
The repairer will contact you to arrange a convenient time to bring your vehicle in for repair.
You will receive a lifetime guarantee on repairs we authorise. To give you peace of mind, we will perform a post repair quality check for free, if you would like us to.
