Quality checks six months on from storm

Six months on from the severe storm that lashed homes in Brisbane’s north-west suburbs, NRMA Insurance is offering customers with completed repairs free quality checks.
NRMA Insurance Queensland State Manager Brett Robinson said more than 70 per cent of major repairs on customers' homes were now complete.
"We're inviting customers whose home repairs we've finalised to take advantage of an independent inspection by a qualified building consultant, at no cost," he said.
"We stand by the repairs carried out by our network of builders. However, a final quality inspection can provide additional peace of mind to customers, many of whom have had their lives significantly disrupted by the damage caused by last November's storm."
Mr Robinson said once repair work was completed, customers were contacted for feedback and offered an inspection.
"The independent consultant makes sure the repair work has been carried out according to what was required and to a quality standard," he said.
NRMA Insurance received more than 2,000 claims for damaged homes as a result of last November's wild weather, mostly in The Gap and Keperra.
