NRMA Insurance is a member of the Australian Business and Community Network (ABCN).
This network of national business leaders aims to create a positive social change through practical programs that engage students, educators and business people. Established in 2005, the coalition works with schools to broaden the horizons of students, support educators and engage businesses to build stronger communities.
Did you know?
- In 2007 through ABCN, four of our employees participated in a pilot literacy program for a school term at a local primary school and one employee volunteered their time to participate in the pilot of the ABCN GOALS program in QLD.
- In 2008, 10 of our employees will mentor Year 9 students considered to be at risk of disengaging from school, aiming to widen their life choices.
- A further 10 employees will work with a local primary school to assist with student literacy. Also suggest follow up flag to be put in place so stats can be updated in 2009.
How we're helping
Our employees participate in a variety of ABCN programs, for example as mentors and offering literacy support. Programs also link our Senior Managers with School Principals to share experiences, solve problems and explore leadership challenges together. We also provide high school students with work experience opportunities.
