The 2010 Community Grants Program is now open!
Whether it's protecting homes against fire, teaching our kids about road safety or combating climate change, local community organisations play a vital role in our lives.
That's why NRMA Insurance supports local community organisations working in the areas of crime prevention, road safety, emergency readiness and response, and the environment through our Community Grants Program.
Since 2003 the Community Grants Program has given more than $4 million to over 1,000 community projects right across Australia. Last year was one of our biggest years on record!
In QLD, we gave 18 community grants to various groups committed to making our communities safer and greener - an investment of around $80,000.
Applications for a grant of up to $5,000 (including GST) are open until 31 March 2010.

Road Safety Grants Category
We support programs in this grants category that seek to change behaviour on the road and reduce the likelihood and severity of road accidents.

Crime Prevention Grants Category
We support programs in this grants category that increase safety and security in local communities by reducing the opportunity for crime.

Emergency Readiness and Response Grants Category
We support programs in this grants category that focus on creating awareness about the importance of preparation and response in relation to minimising the likelihood or severity of incidences in and around the home.
Environment Grants Category
We support programs in this grants category that raise awareness and/or promote actions to combat climate change. Programs that focus on areas such as renewable energy and carbon reduction will also be considered.
